The original building was opened in the mid-1950’s as Trezevant Elementary School. The facility has been expanded twice since that time in 1989 and again in 1998. Today, the building includes the following: 18 classrooms, bandroom, computer lab, cafeteria, fully-equipped media center, and a separate PE facility. Guidance, library, art, music/band, and PE are available to all students. West Carroll Elementary is a Title 1 school-wide school. Computer assisted instruction is provided to students in reading and math. Reading is encouraged through the Accelerated Reading Program. Services for students with special needs are provided through the special education program. Students are required to complete the state mandated TCAP Achievement Test in the spring each year. Students in grade 5 complete the state mandated writing assessment in February. West Carroll Elementary is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
